1. Present participle dirangkai dengan to be membentuk Present Continuous Tense.
2. Present Participle digunakan utk menyatakan beberapa perbuatan yg sedang berlangsung pd waktu yang sama , dan dilakukan oleh pelaku yang sama.
Examples :
a) This morning I saw Tia.
She was standing at the bus stop.
She was waiting for the bus.
Apabila digabungkan menjadi : This morning I saw Tia standing at the bus stop waiting for
the bus.

b) We notice the student.
He is sitting at the corner.
He is talking to Beni.
Apabila digabungkan menjadi : We notice the student sitting at the corner talking to Beni.
Pada kalimat di atas ada pekerjaan utama dan pekerjaan tujuan.
Pekerjaan utama dapat dinyatakan dalam semua tenses sedangkan pekerjaan tujuan hanya dalam bentuk Present Participle. Perhatikan contoh di bawah ini :

PEKERJAAN UTAMA PEKERJAAN TUJUAN
Yesterday I saw Dewi playing tennis.
I feel a spider walking on my neck.
Tomorrow she will come carrying a suitcase.

3. Present Participle digunakan sebagai kata benda majemuk (compound noun).
( sesuatu yang sedang ... ).
